Portugal has some of the sexiest soccer players out there. I also love their wine colored uniforms.
Nuno Gomes and Pedro Pauleta
Team captain Luis Figo-- I like to think of him as the Mr. Big on the team, older, experienced, great dresser and still very sexy.
And of course, the playboy himself Cristiano Ronaldo. Thank god we'll get to see this young hunk for another 2 world cups! but looks like he is injured and may not play tomorrow. What I wouldn't give to be his massage therapist!

Beautiful Italians!
Prayers for Italia....
Anyone with eye sockets and clear vision can see that the Italian team is the clear favorite in the final 8 hotties-cup.
World Cup after World Cup, Italy shines by outdoing itself an extremely good-looking team not to mention they were the architects of the smaller uniforms -- THANK YOU Dolce & Gabana!!! Finally a set of designers who understand the needs of the soccer public. Just lovely. The entire team is mega-hot this year...they look more like Hugo Boss models than soccer players...but believe me these boys will deliver. Please God...please keep them alive one more round.
Alessandro Nesta...not playing today. tragic. He's sitting out from the AUS game.

Hotness factor Germany vs Argentina
I am a bit torn about tomorrow-- though I would like a Latin American team to advance, God help us if the Argentinians out there get an even bigger ego!
So in terms of hotness, I think Argentina has an all around better team than Germany, but Michael Ballack sure if sexy!
Here's a much better pic of Hernan Crespo + group shot of Nicolas Burdisso, Crespo & Roberto Ayala.
Germany's Michael Ballack.

ANALYSIS: GERMANY VS ARGENTINA
Ooooh it's going to be a good game!!!!
Though i want Argentina to win since they are from my native South America, I think Germany will win with home field advantage...and they have been playing a really tight game.
Let's revisit their World Cup game play shall we...
The clear winner in GROUP A Germany finished the first round with 9 points.
09 Jun GER : COSTA RICA 4:2
(thus far Costa Rica has been the only team to get a single goal even in much less 2!)
14 Jun GER : POLAND 1:0
20 Jun GER : ECUADOR 3:0
Goals:
24 Jun GER : SWEDEN 2:0
Okay...that said...we see some patterns here. KLOSE (11) and PODOLSKI (20) are the ones to watch-- they play an amazing technical game and tend to set up each other's shots on goal.
MIROSLAV KLOSE...though he does nothing for me downstairs, this is one of those softer spoken "nice guys" that your mother would want you to marry. I gotta give it to him...he does have extraordinary talent...and has managed to score 4 goals- the top scorer this WC. Mark my words....the finals will be all about him and Ronaldo.
His POLISH...yeah, Polish (guess Poland is to Germany in soccer what Mexico is to the US) pal LUKAS PODOLSKI is at least much easier on the eyes. The youngin is Germany's golden boy and we can expect to see him at the next WC.
Okay...now ARGENTINA
Thus far they are playing a good game but in what i saw against Mexico...i would not call it great.
10 Jun ARG : Cote D'Ivoire 2:1 (2:0)
Goals:
16 Jun ARG : SERBIA 6:0 (3:0)
24 Jun ARG : MEXICO 2:1 a.e.t (1:1, 1:1)
SIDE NOTE: One player to also watch is Lionel Messi...the youngest FC Barca player who is often called a young Maradona. It will be interesting to see if he is used in the starting line or as a sub later in the game.
ALL IN ALL as far as hotties go...my vote is for Argentina!

WC HOTTIE RETROSPECTIVE: GHANA GANA EVEN THOUGH BRAZIL WON
Oh Ghana...we are so proud!!! Chin up. You were AWESOME.
The other Cinderella hopeful Ghana was no match for five-time world champs Brazil yesterday...but they played an incredible game. Unlike other matches, this one was about speed, speed, speed. Whoa. Don't care what folks say about Ronaldo's ponchie...the guy can run. Whee wee.
MVP without a doubt for Ghana has to be the lovely, the talented, the drop dead gorgeous puppy dog eyed goalie RICHARD KINGSON. One minute, you just want to hug him with that charming smile and sparkling eyes, and the next minute you just want to watch in awe of his razor sharp instincts as he saves yet another ball. What a man. What a talent. sigh.
22 KINGSON Richard
Date of birth: 13 June 1978
Height: 182 cm
Weight: 83 kg
Position: Goalkeeper
Current Club: Ankaraspor (TUR)
Int'l Caps: 37 (as of 27-Jun-2006)
First Int'l Cap: Brazil v. Ghana (27-Mar-1996)
Sidenote: Karyn, Tash and i watched the games on four large screens at Monkeytown.
WC HOTTIE RETROSPECTIVE: American Int'l Level Talent Arrives and Dies to Ghana.
Finally a couple of gringo players worth writing about! God it's about time the US team has hotter players than "shaggy + jesus lovechild" Aleixi Lalas and "valderama meets Animal from the muffets" Cobi Jones. Claudio Reyna signaled the first changes and gave us hope that the US team was heading in the right direction. Now Carlos Bocanegra showed the world that the USA had more to offer than a bad president and junk food. Born in Mexico, Bocanegra poses a compelling argument for immigration reform...we NEED MORE guys like him jumping the border and joining the US team.
Unfortunately, one hottie cannot sustain a team. The US elimination clearly showed us that all the money, power, technology, fancy coaches, newly naturalized players, and all the sponsorship in the world is no match against the mighty superpower of Ghana. GHANA gano.

WC HOTTIE RETROSPECTIVE....Swede Dreams!!!
One more reason to hate Germany. They just had to eliminate Sweden. Thanks for ruining it for everyone else...wasn't it enough that you GOT to host all these hotties?
FREDRIK LJUNGBURG
(top hottie pick and quite possibly winner of the hottie cup...maybe Angelina and Brad's secret DNA lovechild...those lips, those eyes)

Fredrick doesn't make me want to buy CK undies, he makes me want to be HIS pair. This guy is too hot for even the World Cup. He has a very hot team...but in the interest of not looking back too much...we chose him as the clear super Swede. We'll miss you!!!
