Underdogs Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina!

Let’s peek at some of the underdogs playing today: Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina! Both are part of Group F which features Argentina and Nigeria.

Iran

Iran has never been able to advance beyond the Group stage at the World Cup.  Its most epic match was its 2-1 defeat over the USA in 1998 which was charged with politics and ended up eliminating the Americans from the Cup.

Iran’s first match against Nigeria ended up scoreless for both sides.  We wish them luck as they battle heavyweight Argentina today, who have the Pope on their side!

This is the team for you ladies who like your men tall, dark and handsome with a side order of thick locks and 5 o’clock shadow!

30 year old forward Khosro HEYDARI (2)

33 year old midfielder Javad NEKOUNAM (6) is the Team Melli captain and one of its most experienced players.

32 year old defender Amirhossein SADEGHI (5)

30 year old forward Masoud SHOJAEI (7)

Bosnia-Herzegovina

The team won an impressive 8 of 10 matches to get to the World Cup, but lost their opening match to Argentina.

27 year old goalkeeper Asmir BEGOVIC (1)

24 year old defender Ermin BICAKCIC (3) who appears to consume a LOT of gel!

I had to include 21 year old midfielder Muhamed BESIC (7) because he is a player on the rise, but he looks about 14 to me!

Miralem PJANIC (8) is an impressive 24 year old midfielder who currently plats for Rome.

30 year old midfielder Mensur MUJDZA plays for Freiburg and is one to watch.
