ARGENTINA VS NIGERIA

Advantage Argentina, but bound to be an interesting match. Tragically, this cup’s Argentine selection is somewhat disappointing from the hotties front compared to past years. Let’s face it, like France, Argentina was one of the teams that barely got there.  But three words stand out: SERGIO “KUN” AGUERO --- SO ADORABLY CUTE!!!!!! He’s like puppy…but fierce on the field and he didn’t just sleep his way on to the team by banging Coach Diego Maradona’s daughter Giannina and getting her pregs—he’s earned his wings as the  #3 or the  #4 to Lionel Messi so that makes him even hotter.

Sergio AGUERO
  • Date of Birth: 2 June 1988
  • Height: 170 cm
  • Shirt number: 16
  • Position: Forward
  • Current club: Atletico Madrid (ESP)
  • International Caps: 22
  • International Goals: 8
  • First international: Brazil - Argentina (3 September 2006)
Since becoming the youngest debutant in the history of the Argentinian first division at the age of 15 years, one month and three days, Sergio Aguero has proved time and again he has a big-match temperament.

Super cute guy next door but...not sure what we like more-- the baby or the cup in those hands!

NEXT UP…let’s face it. You can’t talk about the Argentine team until you talk LIONEL MESSI. Though averaging a low 6-7 in the hotness factor, he IS the star of the team. A fixture for my fav league “La Barca”, he is the top ranked player for the entire cup with only England's Wayne Rooney following.

Will he have what it takes?
Lionel MESSI
  • Date of Birth: 24 June 1987
  • Height: 170 cm
  • Shirt number: 10
  • Position: Forward
  • Current club: Barcelona (ESP)
  • International Caps: 45
  • International Goals: 13
  • First international: Hungary - Argentina (17 August 2005)
Lionel Messi is the best pound-for-pound soccer player in the world, and perhaps of all time. At 22, Messi has won just about everything there is to win, both individually and in club soccer. Missing is any sort of hardware with Argentina, aside from an Olympic gold medal. Messi's game relies on its unpredictability and magnificent control of the ball, which seldom demurs to anything Messi asks it to do. Listed at a charitable 5-foot-7, he's even a good header. While transcendent with his club, Barcelona, in the last few years (his 17 goals this season are tied for the most in Spain), the knock on Messi has been that he doesn't match that dominance for Argentina. For the most part, this is blamed on Argentina manager Diego Maradona's refusal to deploy him in his natural position -- on the right, allowing him to cut in -- and posting him behind a deep striker instead. Maradona, one of the best of all time as a player, has named Messi his successor as Argentina's soccer savior, a label that has proved disastrous for all others so designated previously by Maradona.

Let’s talk defense. RRRRRRrrrrrghhhhh. Only one hottie stands out... defensive man ARIEL GRACE..he's a Russell Brand meets Russell Crowe kinda guy that we love to see sweat it out.

Ariel GARCE

  • Date of Birth: 14 July 1979
  • Height: 175 cm
  • Shirt number: 12
  • Position: Defender
  • Current club: Atletico Colon (ARG)
  • International Caps: 4
  • International Goals: 0
  • First international: Honduras - Argentina (31 January 2003)
Having turned 30 and made just a solitary friendly appearance since Diego Maradona took over as national coach, Ariel Garce was a surprise selection in the Argentina squad but we are all happy that he helped elevate the team's hot factor to "caliente".

Lastly is GOALIE DIEGO POZO....more the guy "your mom wants you to date" roughed outdoorsy type meets Matt Dillon in the 80's good looks but definitely world class hotness.

Diego POZO

  • Date of Birth: 16 February 1978
  • Height: 183 cm
  • Shirt number: 1
  • Position: Goalkeeper
  • Current club: Atletico Colon (ARG)
  • International Caps: 3
  • International Goals: 0
  • First international: Argentina - Panama (20 May 2009)
It was Diego Pozo’s classy performances between the posts for Colon that pushed him into contention for a place in Argentina’s squad for South Africa 2010.

ON THE NIGERIAN FRONT.....

My fav...so passionate so adorable....Obafemi Martins is our pick and our star.

Obafemi MARTINS

NGA
  • Date of Birth: 28 October 1984
  • Height: 170 cm
  • Shirt number: 9
  • Position: Forward
  • Current club: Wolfsburg (GER)
  • International Caps: 34
  • International Goals: 17
  • First international: Republic of Ireland - Nigeria (29 May 2004)
The most consistently dangerous Nigeria striker when fit, Obafemi Martins could be the wildcard that coach Lars Lagerback needs to escape a tricky group.

Love a man with that much passion!!! I am hoping that the home continental turf of being in Africa will help one of the African teams make it to the quarter or semi finals...how exciting would that be!!! My money is on Nigeria or Cameroon.

GAME ON ARGENTINA V. NIGERIA....may the best team win and may you not tie!!!
